Use these guidelines to help assist you in the scholarship process. Outside scholarships are not the largest source of financial aid but they can definitely help. In order to be successful with scholarship, you must research early on and apply for scholarships that fit you!
Steps to Find Scholarships
Step 1: Colleges’ Websites This is where you are going to find your most substantial scholarships.
Go to the College Website > Financial Aid > Scholarships
See what scholarships you qualify for and if there is a separate application for them.
Click the button at the bottom of the page for local Philadelphia College Specific Scholarships
Step 2: Search Locally Local scholarships have less competition so there is a higher chance of you receiving them.
Parent’s places of work often have scholarships for their employees’ children. Go to the “Employee Related Scholarships” to see common workplace scholarships. Also have your parent ask their employer about scholarship opportunities.
Step 3: Search Nationally These scholarships will be more competitive but are often from well established organizations.
Look under the “National Scholarship” section below.
