Management & Technology Summer Institute The Management & Technology Summer Institute (M&TSI) is a college credit program at the University of Pennsylvania, available to select junior and senior high school students interested in the integration of technological concepts and management principles. Sponsored by The Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology, the School of Engineering and Applied Science, and the Wharton School, M&TSI explores engineering and business disciplines to encourage the technology-driven leaders of the future. Through technological prototype development and complex problem solving, students gain the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to successfully integrate technology and business concepts. The M&TSI Program features daily classes taught by Penn faculty and successful entrepreneurs. Students are given the opportunity to uncover and practice the principles of technological innovation through hands-on learning with intensive team projects, field trips to companies and research/development facilities, and other on-campus activities, all while living on Penn’s historic campus. Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week is an intensive program that educates high school students about the American free enterprise system. Bringing motivated students together with business people from throughout the state. During PFEW, participants not only learn to appreciate our free enterprise system, but they also see from a practitioner's perspective what it takes to be successful in an increasingly competitive global marketplace. Accented with motivational speakers and interactive learning exercises, this one-of-a-kind program furnishes a real life educational experience for eager students. Scholarship winners grasp the value of teamwork, cooperation and leadership and are provided with an invaluable opportunity to develop communication skills.
Wharton Sports Business Academy The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton Sports Business Initiative (WSBI) present the Wharton Sports Business Academy (WSBA), imparting key insights to rising high school juniors and seniors interested in sports business leadership careers. Learn core business topics as they intersect with the sports industry: Leadership, Ownership, Management, Marketing, Media, Law, Negotiation, International Business. Students have a rare chance to engage with industry leaders and discuss the essentials of a successful sports organization. Guest speakers include world-renowned Wharton faculty as well as sports agents, broadcast network executives, brand marketers and professional team executives. The Wharton Sports Business Academy encourages leadership development through collaborative teamwork. Teams tackle case studies and create business plans for a new sports-focused business.
