These programs offer opportunities to take summer classes in a variety of subjects.
Advance College Experience (ACE) Get a head start on college with Community College of Philadelphia’s summer ACE (Advanced College Experience) program. An opportunity that you will never forget, ACE provides college-level courses for highly motivated students going into 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grades, as well as students up to age 21 pursuing a GED. The ACE program offers a cross-section of intensive courses and includes a full semester of course material from July to August. Courses meet Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. or 1 to 4:30 p.m. Three ACE courses are offered online. Courses require hard work, dedication to the task and most of all, a desire to learn new and exciting academic skills. You can take two ACE courses, however, please be aware that this is a lot of work.
Drexel University Summer Courses for High School Students Drexel's summer academic programs are summer camps open to highly motivated high school students who wish to explore what a university-level program is all about. Workshops are led by Drexel faculty and utilize Drexel's labs, facilities, and the city of Philadelphia's many resources.
Temple University Summer Academy Temple Summer Academy invites students entering grades 11th -12th to experience the academics, energy, and culture of Temple University through this rigorous three week summer program. Temple Summer Academy includes 3 college credits as well as non-credit enrichment classes in leadership, language, or visual arts.
Villanova Enrichment for High School Students - Residential or Day Program Variety is the spice of life, making Enrichment a favorite for students who want to try a few different things! We like to think of Enrichment as the “jack of all trades” program — perfect for the athlete who loves to paint, the gamer who shoots short films and the writer who sketches red carpet fashion designs. Create your perfect summer schedule by choosing one morning course and one afternoon course from 30+ classes across subjects spanning the arts, sciences, fashion, fitness, engineering and so much more! We offer all of these choices not only because they’re fun, but because trying new things is key to uncovering passion.
Yale Summer Academy Sponsored by Yale University, the Yale Summer Academy is an immersive, innovative leadership program for high school students. The program is designed to develop the next generation’s leaders, top thinkers and change-makers. Spend two weeks applying interdisciplinary knowledge and reasoning to mission-minded planning. Explore five academic majors at Yale, getting a preview of life at a world-class Ivy-League University. A rotation of academic enrichment classes is woven throughout these two weeks, imparting reasoning, rationale and topic-related knowledge. Classes are supplemented with daily “Explore Yale” breakout sessions that introduce you to Yale’s most celebrated and picturesque museums, libraries and landmarks. Collaborate with your group to develop a functional plan to inspire positive change as you focus on a social, local or global issue. Leave the program having created an NGO or piece of legislation that can be enacted.
